Our school trip to the... Museum

On Monday   we went to the Museum and learnt about the Maori and how they had to innovate  we were given six activity's like smoothing rocks hollowing a part of a tree trying how the made fires how the made drills and used them  carving  and  doing drawings of what they drew. My favourite one was hollowing a part of a tree we got ten hits to hollow it out and in the Maori area there were lots
of different rocks like green stone green stone that was also what we used for the tree hollowing:) but made in to an axe of some sort and i think the  trip to the Museum. Was a great trip and i cant wait for the next school trip:)

HELLO WORLD!!!!!

Hi im Oliver and and I will be talking about what I like and stuff.

1. Being lazy all day and sitting on my couch 
2. Siting on the couch or my bed playing iPad or my Xbox. Personnel favourite 
3. Go to my nans and totally dont stay up till midnight
4. When i cant play games and im board I roll around on the floor

     AND THAT'S THAT SO HELLO PEOPLE!!

Our winter sports!!

Through this winter the year 5/6 and the year 7/8 have been doing winter sports and I have been doing hockey, our team has faced many challenging teams. We have won most of our games and haven't lost many games at all, our first day of hockey we versed 7 teams and won them all.  Most of the other games we won. since the first games my fitness has improved allot. Our team definitely improved from our first couple of games. My favourite position would be defence or mid. Defence is just defending the goal from. The strikers and to pass to mid, the mid is to pass to striker and drop back to defence if needed. Striker is getting up to the goal with the ball and scoring.
Today (August 15 2019) was our last game at nun week park                                                                                 

What sports will you play next winter?

Polar ice caps are things 😑😐😑😐

This term in reading we have been reading about the environment. I have enjoyed reading many different articles about the environment. For reading this week my group read this article:What Is a Polar Ice Cap?

The new ideas I have now I’ve read this text are: 

• Give everybody free solar panels.
• Don't use fossil fuel cars
• Try biking or scootering  to school
• Stop using singe use plastic                                       
• Try not to produce greenhouse gasses  
• If you see rubbish pick it up.

I now better understand. That the earth needs us  and we need the earth. But were trashing it so the earth is dying and we did so we need to fix it.       

Just think what  you would  do if you were losing your home? so

OUR KINDNESS PROJECT!!! :]

PBL - Term 1

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about kindness and the big question was: How can we build community through our actions?

First, we explored some collaborative activities and discussed how we could include kindness and build a sense of community through our actions at camp. Next, we were organised into groups where we had to unpack the above question. In our groups we considered how we could spread community and kindness through our entire school community. We decided that we would offer something that was free and would make others happy. we had lots of ideas like a school carnival.  we came up with so many ideas the finally decided to make a fun zone it had a chocolate game whats the smell. then we had apple bobbing and we had to throw em and ems in a cup.

We created an action plan and we did throwing m and ms in a cup cut chocolate and guess the smell.

Reflection: it was quite fun but I was a Little frustrated when we disagreed with someone

For our final product our group the fun zone.

How did our action build a sense of community in the school?

we gave kids that were being kind a treat they wouldn't normally get in school

I contributed by coming up with ideas and help set up on the day .

I think the PBL might impact on others by its encouraging people to be kind to have a reward

What I learned about working with others its hard with the group
